The brother of Joel McDiarmid says his family have been left 'utterly devastated' as he issued a mental health plea following his own family tragedy.
He described the family's ordeal as a 'nightmare' and urged anyone who is struggling to seek help if they ever 'feel down'.
The 26-year-old wrote: "On Sunday my family’s nightmare reached the conclusion we feared so deeply. We are utterly devastated to have lost our wonderful brother/son.
"Thank you to everyone for their support. If you ever feel down, please talk to someone. #MentalHealth #SuicidePrevention."
A major search for Joel was launched after he disappeared on November 17 after leaving his home in Boghall.
A body was tragically found in the search for the missing 28-year-old on December 6.
Police say formal identification is yet to take place.
Tributes poured in for Joel, with pals left 'heartbroken' by the news.
One person said: “Saddened to be reading this and absolutely heartbreaking news for his family. Rest easy.”
Another wrote: “Not the result we were all hoping for, but at least the family now have an ending. Rest in peace, Joel xx”
