"We are and will remain open to support businesses" - Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce on coronavirus

Business leaders in Staffordshire are urging companies to seek the Chambers' advice over HR, health and safety and cash flow issues following the increasing threat of coronavirus on small businesses.

The chief executive of the Staffordshire Chambers of Commerce has released a statement about covid-19 which outlines the organisation's ongoing support for Staffordshire-based firms.

Sara Williams said: "We urge businesses to see the Chambers as an extension of their team.

"Our business experts can help in person or over the phone with any business issues that arise as the result of the coronavirus.

"We have experts in HR, Health and Safety and Finance who can advise on staff sickness policies, provide legal advice and help with cash flow issues. We work closely with the Department for International Trade who can help to advise on importing and exporting difficulties during these unprecedented times.

She added: "We are also linked with the other 52 accredited Chamber networks, so if a business experiences problems with supply chains we can use our links to find alternatives.

"We understand how events and networking are particularly vital to small businesses and so our events will continue as planned until we receive alternative government advice.

"We’ve put together a coronavirus toolkit on our website which signposts to the latest information from official organisations and partners.

"We are and will remain open to support the businesses of Staffordshire."
