Wayne Rooney shows his support for Marco Silva's Everton ahead of new Premier League season

Former Everton player Wayne Rooney was pictured wearing the Blues new home shirt for the upcoming 2019/20 season.

The DC United striker returned to England to spend some quality time with his family.

In a post on Instagram the 33-year-old shared a picture of himself along with nine-year-old son Kai and three-year-old son Kit.

Rooney, who has 14.2million followers on the photo-sharing app, wrote: "Good to be home for a few days. Thanks Everton for our new shirts."

The forward returned to Goodison Park for a second stint at the club in 2017 before making the move to America the following summer.

DC United, who are captained by the England icon, are set to play a friendly against Ligue 1 outfit Marseille on Wednesday, with an MLS clash versus Chicago scheduled for 28 July.
