Wayne Rooney reacts to Leeds United's title win as Marcelo Bielsa is spotted at Everton game

Leeds United are back in the big time and have seven weeks to prepare for their return to the Premier League.

The 2019/20 regular seasons are in the books and Leeds are now focused on getting ready for the top tier.

This means transfer gossip as well as some stories looking back on the club's Championship success, while Andrea Radrizzani has touched on the coronavirus pandemic impact on the club.

With that said, here's all the news from around Elland Road over the past 24 hours.

Rooney's view on Leeds' title

Pascal Struijk has discussed what Wayne Rooney told him during Leeds' win over Derby County about the Whites' securing the Championship.

Struijk admits many of his team-mates were struggling with the impact of alcohol during their convincing victory.

Speaking to Algemeen Dagblad, the 20-year-old also lifted the lid on his conversations with Rooney.

“I was allowed to play as a controlling midfielder again, so I faced Wayne Rooney,” he said. “Very nice to suddenly play against such greatness. I still had a chat with him during the match, after all, we were already champions.

“Before the game, we got a guard of honour and during the game, Rooney said we really deserved it.

“Many players were on the field with a big hangover, but we still won 1-3 after a delay.”

Bielsa scouting Premier League clash

Marcelo Bielsa's future may be up in the air but that didn't stop him scouting a Premier League game on the final day of the season in the top tier.

Bielsa was spotted at Everton and Bournemouth’s clash at Goodison Park, with the Cherries winning 3-1 and still failing to survive relegation.

Beren Cross has looked into the potential transfer reasons behind his visit to Dean Court.

Pandemic impact on Leeds

The impact of the coronavirus pandemic on Leeds has been laid bare by Andrea Radrizzani.

After the pandemic started to worsen in the UK in early-March, all elite-level football was suspended and failed to make a return for just over three months.

Leeds owner Radrizzani has now revealed that the Whites have probably lost somewhere in the region of £30m to £40m.

"We are already hit very badly, we probably lose £30m to 40m between this season and the beginning of the next one," he said. "We, unfortunately, can see the negative impact of COVID in every area: ticketing, hospitality, sponsorship sales.

"Already, the offer we had for shirt sponsorship before COVID and what we are about to confirm is in the region of 40 per cent lower.

"Unfortunately, every sports organisation is affected by this health crisis, economic crisis."
