Wayne Rooney 'in talks for return to English football' because Coleen wants to raise kids in UK

Wayne Rooney may make a return to English football because his wife Coleen wants to raise their four children in the UK.

The former Manchester United Captain is said to be in talks with Derby County regarding a potential player-coach role.

Wayne, 33, currently plays for DC United in Major League Soccer and is reportedly paid £300,000 a week.

But it is claimed Coleen and their boys Kai, nine, Klay, six, Kit, three, and Cass, aged 17-months-old, are feeling 'unsettled' in the States.

Wayne has previously said he wishes to go into management after he retires.

Since he started playing for DC United the former England star has scored 25 goals in 43 games.

He said back in June: “I’m taking steps to get my badges completed and when I finish playing I’ll see what opportunities come up.

“There’s already offers which have been made, but at the minute I am still a player and I want to enjoy playing, and then I’ll see which offers are right when I do finish.”

It has been reported Wayne's ageny Paul Stretford and Derby are in preliminary talks.

The Championship club’s new coach Phillip Cocu, who took over from Frank Lampard recently, is looking to bolster his playing and coaching staff.
