Wayne Rooney has sent a message to Manchester United players as they continue to adjust to Ralf Rangnick.
Wolves inflicted a first defeat on the interim manager at Old Trafford on Monday night, with United now four points behind Arsenal in the quest for Champions League qualification for next season.
Rangnick's men do have a game in hand on the Gunners and West Ham — while rejuvenated Tottenham are also in the mix having improved since bringing in Antonio Conte — but it's not been plain-sailing for United.
And amid criticism and focus on Rangnick's 4-2-2-2 system, Rooney has already outlined his own concern with the approach.
Having been a record goal-scorer for United in his playing days at Old Trafford, the 36-year-old continues to cut his teeth as a manager with Derby County in the Championship, but has been no stranger to his former home.
During an interview with Alan Shearer for The Athletic, he said: "I've been to a few games, taken my kids.
"Obviously it's been difficult for them. I think it had got to the point with Ole where everyone could see it was coming to an end. With the new manager now, you don't know. I'm sure it's a lot different to anywhere he has managed before. There's a lot more pressure, managing a lot of high-profile players."

Rooney added: "I was at his first game against Crystal Palace and I thought they looked very good.
"My only concern, with that shape, was that when you come up against those better teams — Liverpool, Man City, Arsenal — you could get punished.
"The most important thing is that the players need to buy into it. He needs to get them working as a group, rather than as individuals."
