Wayne Lineker slumps in misery as he celebrates 59th birthday alone at empty club

Wayne Lineker has joked that he's feeling blue after being forced to celebrate his 59th birthday all by himself.

Ibiza nightlife mogul Wayne, who turned 59 yesterday, shared a montage of snaps of himself wearing a party hat, twiddling his thumbs and yearning for the flood of summer holidaymakers.

"Happy Birthday to me ..table for 1 please ..2nd Lockdown Birthday," he captioned the snaps.

But his showbiz pals were on hand to send him all the best in the comments, including Love Islanders, soap actors, DJs, and his Celebs Go Dating co-stars.

"Thank you for all your lovely messages they mean a lot," Wayne replied.

Wayne - brother to footie pundit Gary - recently jetted back to the Mediterranean island to prepare his nightlife spots for the summer's rush of Brit tourists.

He'd been back in the UK for Celebs Go Dating: The Mansion, striking up a rapport with Geordie Shore beauty Chloe Ferry.

But it may be more than friendship, he's hinted.

After the new mates pranked fans into thinking they were engaged, Wayne revealed on Fubar Radio that they've been seeing each other and that she'll be joining him in Ibiza over the summer.

"Me and Chloe just have a laugh all the time," Wayne said, explaining their pranks, "We're in the [Celebs Go Dating] mansion and she had a wedding ring. She went, 'Come on, Wayne, let's pretend we're getting married.'

"And we took all the pictures and everything and we didn't end up doing it, we just forgot about it."

He added: "And she phoned me up last week. Because, I mean, we are seeing each other a little bit and having a bit of flirtatious banter and we'll see what happens in the summer.

"But she said, 'Come on let's post it! Let's have a laugh!' I said, 'You know it's going to go viral don't you?' She went, 'Yeah of course I do!'"

"So Wayne," co-host Bobby Norris pressed, "when you say 'seeing each other', what? Romantically?"

"We're always flirting, Bobby," Wayne teased.

Chloe flashed a ringless finger as she waved for the cameras shortly after their "engagement" made headlines.

And they haven't slowed the flirting, Wayne leaving a cheeky comment on one of Chloe's raunchy social media offerings.

Wayne and Chloe wouldn't be the first celeb couple from the mansion to find love, after DJ Tom Zanetti and Made In Chelsea's Sophie Hermann became an item.
