Wayne Lineker hospitalised ahead of surgery and says he's 'buzzing' off pain medication

Wayne Lineker took a break from partying it up O Beach in Ibiza this weekend to check in for surgery.

The Ibiza club boss, 59, is currently in hospital recovering following a partial knee replacement and took to social media to share an update with his fans post-surgery on Wednesday evening.

Wealthy businessman Wayne - whose daughter Tia recently welcomed a baby - made light of the operation, before confessing to being a fan of the pain medication he was given by doctors.

Revealing that he was a fan of the effects of the painkillers, he told his Instagram followers that he was "buzzing" and "high as a kite" before teasing that he requested an alcoholic beverage from the medical team when he came round.

Speaking from a hospital bed clad in a hospital gown, Wayne filmed himself saying: "I had a partial knee replacement. I've just checked and my leg is still there. So I think it went successfully."

Proving that he was keen on how the pain relief was making him feel, he added: "I'm buzzing. I feel like I just want to go out.

"They asked if I wanted a drink, I said 'yes a vodka red bull please'. But they said no.

"I might come back and get the other knee done next week.

"It's absolutely great isn't it. I'm as high as a kite."

Wayne - who is the brother of football legend Gary Lineker - captioned the clip: "High as a kite !! New titanium knee to go with my titanium shoulder."

In July, Wayne was overjoyed when he was able to open up the doors to his famous Ibiza beach club following months of the party venue having to be closed amid the Coronavirus pandemic.

He documented the huge opening party on Instagram after months of worries about the future of his club.
