Wayne Hoskyns: Bexley murder victim named as 'loving husband' and father-of-five - as family urge witnesses to come forward

The family of a father-of-five who died following a "senseless" attack in Bexley have paid tribute to their "loving husband and daddy".

Wayne Hoskyns, 41, was found unresponsive in The Parade, Crayford shortly after 4pm on Friday, after officers were called to reports of an assault.

He was taken to hospital in a critical condition but died on Sunday surrounded by his family, police said.

Today his wife urged witnesses or anyone with information about the assault to come forward.

In a statement released through Scotland Yard she said: "We beg you to please come forward if you have any information which may help police with their enquiries.

"This is an awful tragedy and we want to get justice for Wayne, a loving husband and daddy. Our hearts our breaking at this sad time.”

Mr Hoskyn's mother added: “He was a much loved father, son brother and uncle.

"His family has been left devastated by this senseless crime and loss of a young life and we would implore anybody who saw anything or has any information whatsoever to please come forward.”

A post-mortem examination into his death will be held in due course, police said. Homicide detectives from the Specialist Crime Command investigating.

A 42-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of murder on Saturday. He has since been released with no further action.
