Wayne and Coleen Rooney fans react with disbelief as they celebrate eldest son Kai becoming a teenager

Wayne and Coleen Rooney have proudly shared about their eldest son becoming a teenager. Their first-born Kai has turned 13 and the couple both posted loving messages about their boy.

Fans reacted with disbelief that the A-list offspring of the Manchester United legend, who arrived into the world at Liverpool Women's Hospital, is now a teen. "My boy is a teenager today…..Happy Birthday @kairooney.10 I’m so proud of you," wrote doting mum Coleen.

She shared a photo of herself smiling widely on holiday, looking tanned in a green shirt and matching shorts, alongside the birthday boy. Her friend, former The Real Housewives of Cheshire star Tanya Bardsley, commented: "Happy birthday gorgeous boy."

Over on his dad's Instagram Wayne posted a photo of himself with Kai and his younger brother Klay. "Happy 13th Birthday @kairooney.10. Teenager," he captioned the snap. And david_taylor1978 commented: "They grow up rapid."

Earlier this year Kai Rooney signed a sportswear sponsorship deal with Puma at just 12-years-old. The budding young footballer is following in the footsteps of his famous father who was the face of Nike’s football promotions during his playing days.

Kai is also tipped for a bright footballing future like Wayne, 37, who is United's all-time record goal scorer. The youngster, who joined the Manchester United Academy in December 2020, netted 56 goals last season.

Wayne, who is now manager of Major League Soccer club D.C. United in the United States and was previously the manager of Derby County, also has three younger sons with Coleen, 36. They have nine-year-old Klay, six-year-old Kit and Cass, four.
