Coleen, 35, rocked her trademark chic look for the friendly outing, wearing a pair of tailored black trousers and an eye-catching statement blouse.
Sharing the image with his 15.3million followers, Wayne captioned the post : "Great catch up with good friend and @dcunited captain @birnbaum15 and his wife @jeanne_birnbaum. Safe trip home."
While visiting England, the Birnbaums enjoyed seeing a match at Liverpool FC, caught up with the Rooneys and took a trip to tour London.
There has recently been some speculation recently that Rooney may return to his Merseyside roots, as the Derby County manager is rumoured to be set to succeed Rafael Benitez if the Everton boss is dismissed following their dreadful run of form.
Talksport's Ray Parlour has backed Rooney for the position as he said: "He’s got Everton in his heart, that’s where he started his career. So that wouldn’t be a bad fit for me. I think that would probably work."
Fans who commented on his post also had hopes of him returning to the blue team.
Jamie said: "Hope to see you managing the blues."
San said: "You coming to manage Everton @waynerooney."
Martin said: "New Everton boss."
