Way to early 2019 Texans schedule win-loss projection

The Houston Texans will have a tough 2019 season. There is no doubt about it. Last year, they offset their disastrous 0-3 start with a nine-game winning streak to finish the season 11-5. After winning the AFC South, they were bounced from the playoffs, in the first round. Now, the Texans have to play a first-place schedule along with the AFC West and NFC South. Houston will have to be ready to play with some NFL powerhouses and see what they are really made of out of the gate.

With four prime time games, a lot of eyes will be able to see just how good or bad the Texans really are in 2019. Here are some early projections of the Texans’ schedule.

Week 1 — Monday, Sept. 9 — at New Orleans Saints, 6:10 p.m. — Loss

Week 2 — Sunday, Sept. 15 — vs. Jacksonville Jaguars, 12:00 p.m. — Win

Week 3 — Sunday, Sept. 22 — at Los Angeles Chargers, 3:25 p.m. — Loss

Week 4 — Sunday, Sept. 29 — vs. Carolina Panthers, 12:00 p.m. — Win

Week 5 — Sunday, Oct. 6 — vs. Atlanta Falcons, 12:00 p.m. — Win

Week 6 — Sunday, Oct. 13 — at Kansas City Chiefs, 12:00 p.m. — Loss

Week 7 — Sunday, Oct. 20 — at Indianapolis Colts, 12:00 p.m. — Loss

Week 8 — Sunday, Oct. 27 — vs. Oakland Raiders, 12:00 p.m. — Win

Week 9 — Sunday, Nov. 3 — at Jacksonville Jaguars (London), 8:30 a.m. — Win

Week 11 — Sunday, Nov. 17 — at Baltimore Ravens, 12:00 p.m. — Win

Week 12 — Thursday, Nov. 21 — vs. Indianapolis Colts, 7:20 p.m. — Win

Week 13 — Sunday, Dec. 1 — vs. New England Patriots, 7:20 p.m. — Loss

Week 14 — Sunday, Dec. 8 — vs. Denver Broncos, 12:00 p.m. — Win

Week 15 — Sunday, Dec. 15 — at Tennessee Titans, 12:00 p.m. — Win

Week 16 — TBD, Dec. 21 or 22 — at Tampa Bay Buccaneers, TBD — Win

Week 17 — Sunday, Dec. 29 — vs. Tennessee Titans, 12:00 p.m. — Win

After everything is said and done, the Texans should finish with another 11-5 record in the AFC South with an opportunity of playing for a wild card.

This is an initial projection and could very much change, but considering the lack of free agent signings and also that the NFL draft has yet to take place, don’t be surprised if another 9-7 special crops up for the Texans at the end of 2019.
