Watts debut and Longstaff recall? The Newcastle XI fans want to see at Brighton

Kell Watts should be handed his Newcastle United debut for the clash at Brighton.

That's the view of Magpies supporters, who also would like to see Matty Longstaff handed a recall despite the uncertainty over his future on Tyneside.

Steve Bruce's injury-hit side travel to the Amex Stadium on Wednesday evening for the penultimate fixture of their season, with eight players ruled out or considered doubts.

The Magpies will be hoping to avoid their fourth consecutive Premier League defeat, following losses to Manchester City, Watford, and Tottenham.

Injuries could force Bruce into a tactical reshuffle, with Fabian Schar's injury last time out leaving Federico Fernandez as the only available first-team centre back. Allan Saint-Maximin is also considered a doubt having picked up a knock against Tottenham.

Emil Krafth has deputised in the heart of defence in recent weeks, but supporters believe Academy prospect Kell Watts should be handed his black-and-white debut.

Reverting to a 4-4-2 formation, fans would like to see a back four of Javi Manquillo, Fernandez, Watts and Danny Rose in front of Martin Dubravka.

Jonjo Shelvey would be partnered by Longstaff in the centre of midfield, with Valentino Lazaro and Matt Ritchie providing the width.

Dwight Gayle retains his place up front having netted three times following the restart, and is joined by Paraguayan playmaker Miguel Almiron.
