A police investigation is underway into the fire that broke out inside a house in Watson on Saturday night. No one was injured in the incident.
According to ACT Emergency Services, the fire at the single-storey house on the corner of Dickinson Street was reported about 11.30pm. Firefighters arrived shortly after and the blaze was brought under control within an hour.
Burn marks were visible throughout the structure, especially on its roof and the house remained cordoned off.
ACT Policing confirmed that at about 11.30pm on Saturday, police were notified by ACT Fire and Rescue of a house fire on Dickinson Street, Watson. A short time later officers arrived at the scene and found the front of the residence was fully engulfed.
"Initial investigations of the scene have deemed the fire to be suspicious," a police spokesperson said.
It is not yet known who lived in the house in the quite North Canberra neighbourhood, or what had caused the fire that has triggered a police investigation.
