Watford vs Tottenham stopped for 'medical emergency' as spectator takes ill during Premier League clash

Watford's Premier League clash with Tottenham was halted due to a medical emergency in the crowd.

The London clubs met in a tight encounter at Vicarage Road with Claudio Ranieri's team frustrating Antonio Conte 's team.

Davinson Sanchez would later head in a winning goal for Spurs, but the football took a back seat in the late stages after referee Rob Jones spotted a problem in the crowd and immediately stopped play.

Several members of staff were seen running across the pitch in the Premier League clash as whistler Jones consulted with stewards to find out what was wrong.

It was reported that someone in the Watford end collapsed and the game was stopped for seven minutes as they received medical attention.

The supporter was treated and then helped out of the stadium by medical staff to a standing ovation.

Play then resumed and, in the sixth minute of stoppage time, Sanchez bundled in a dramatic winner.

It's reported that the supporter in question is OK.
