Watford 1-2 Manchester City
Premier League 2018-19
Venue: Vicarage Road, Watford
Kick-off: 8pm GMT

Goals from Leroy Sane and Riyad Mahrez helped Manchester City extend their winning run to six games with a 2-1 win against Watford at Vicarage Road.

Sane bundled home from Mahrez's cross just five minutes before half time and the Algerian got on the score sheet himself when teed up by Gabriel Jesus.

Abdoulaye Doucoure struck a late consolation but it wasn't enough to unnerve the league leaders

Man City injuries and suspensions

Etienne Capoue is suspended after being sent off against Leicester City. Watford will appeal the decision after Kelechi Iheanacho admitted the midfielder did not make contact with him in the tackle that resulted in his sending off. Capoue was given a straight red card by Graham Scott as Watford lost 2-0.

Watford forward Isaac Success has claimed his Nigeria team-mate Iheanacho told him that Capoue did not make contact. “I feel sorry for him,” said Success. “Let’s see what the FA do because it was never a red card.”

Tom Cleverley (calf) and Adalberto Penaranda (ankle) are both ruled out. Daryl Janmaat continues to build up fitness and will be assessed ahead of kick-off.

TV, online and live stream coverage

The match will be televised live on BT Sport 1 and BT Sport 4K UHD. BT Sport subscribers will be able to stream the match online via the video player and the BT Sport app.

Head to Head

Manchester City have 15 wins over Watford, losing just six times.

In a very one-sided recent record, City have dropped points just twice in over 20 years to Tuesday's opponents and have scored 20 times over their previous six meetings.
