Watford have decided to sack manager Nigel Pearson following Friday's damaging defeat at West Ham left the club deep in Premier League relegation mire.
Pearson was appointed in December, replacing Quique Sanchez Flores after an ill-fated 90-day return to the club. Under-23s coach Hayden Mullins is expected to take charge for the final two games of the season.
It is the third time Watford have dismissed a manager this season after starting the campaign with Javi Gracia, the latest twist in a remarkable 13 months for the Hornets following their FA Cup final appearance last season.
An abject first-half showing at the London Stadium saw West Ham score three times on the way to a comfortable win which all but secured their own Premier League survival.
Watford sit three points clear of the bottom three with two games left to play; against Manchester City on Tuesday and Arsenal next Sunday.
