Watford have suspended head of academy Darren Sarll over allegations of bullying.

The Premier League club are now conducting an investigation into Sarll, the former Stevenage manager, who joined the club last year.

Sarll has been suspended pending the results of the probe. The Premier League is also looking into the matter.

Sarll only joined Watford last summer, to help with the transition of young players from the academy to the first team squad.

Before then he managed Stevenage for two years, being dismissed in March 2018 before moving into another youth development role at the League Two club.

Sarll also held youth team management roles at Brentford and Rotherham, where he worked with Andy Scott, who is now Watford’s sporting director.

His playing career involved spells with several Hertfordshire based non-league clubs over the course of five years, including Berkhamsted, St Albans City and Hemel Hempstead Town.
