Watford injury news includes two big doubts for Leeds United clash

An injury-hit Leeds United will be looking to finally get a win under their belts against a Watford side who are almost fully fit when they meet on Saturday.

Watford head to Elland Road for a 3pm kick-off, where Marcelo Bielsa will be hoping his Leeds side can finally chalk up their first win of the campaign.

Watford have already won two matches already this season and are sitting 12th in the table, but last weekend they were dominated by Newcastle United for much of their 1-1 draw at home.

So far it looks like Watford head coach Xisco Munoz will have a full complement of players to choose from, including danger-men Ismaila Sarr and Emmanuel Dennis, though there are a couple of doubts.

Daniel Bachmann

The 27-year-old Austrian goalkeeper started the season as Watford’s number one choice, but was dropped to the bench earlier this month.

There was initially confusion among Watford fans about exactly why, with Watford boss Munoz saying he wanted more experience from 38-year-old Ben Foster.

However, before Watford’s match against Newcastle, Munoz said that Bachmann had a knee injury.

With Foster having played well against Newcastle, except for some questions over Newcastle's long-range goal, it may be a difficult decision for Munoz as to who is the first choice.

Tom Cleverley

Watford captain Tom Cleverley was taken off at half-time last time out after a clash with Newcastle goalkeeper Karl Darlow.

It was confirmed to be a concussion substitute, which means that the Premier League concussion protocol will have kicked in.

That means a formal post-match assessment, and what happens from there will have depended on what the assessment revealed.

There has been no statement so far from the club about Cleverley's assessment.
