Watford have the players to get out of relegation scrap, insists Hayden Mullins

Hayden Mullins is confident Watford will avoid relegation despite picking up just one win this season.

Mullins took over as interim manager following the sacking of Quique Sanchez Flores after just 12 games in charge.

The 40-year-old, who manages Watford’s Under-23s, was part of the West Ham side that won seven of their last nine Premier League matches in 2007 to beat the drop on the final day and says the squad he has worked with over the past two days have everything needed to dig their way out of trouble.

He said: “The Premier League is tough, but we’ll try and get out of this situation by sticking together and implementing the game plan in the right way. I most definitely see those characteristics in this squad. They are professionals, the support they have given us has been first class.”

Leicester (4-1-4-1): Schmeichel; Ricardo, Evans, Soyuncu, Chilwell; Ndidi; Perez, Tielemans, Maddison, Barnes; Vardy

Watford (4-4-2): Foster; Femenia, Cathcart, Mariappa, Holebas; Hughes, Doucoure, Capoue, Sarr; Deulofeu, Deeney
