Watford handed major injury boost ahead of West Ham clash as key midfielder returns

Watford midfielder Etienne Capoue will be fit for the visit of West Ham to Vicarage Road on Sunday for both teams final Premier League game of the season.

Capoue, who was named the Hornets player of the year during the week, missed their defeat to Chelsea last weekend with a groin injury but has been passed fit to feature against Manuel Pellegrini's team.

Whether he does or not, what the cup final coming up next weekend, remains to be seen.

Javi Gracia will be without long-term absentees Sebastian Prodl and former Hammers youngster Domingos Quina this weekend but apart from those three, they are in good health.

The Spanish manager said ahead of this weekend's game: "Capoue has recovered from last week and will be available for the next game," said Gracia.

"We have Domingos Quina and Sebastian Prodl injured and the rest of the players are available."

That includes Troy Deeney, who has become a bit of a pantomime villain among West Ham fans after Watford's win at London Stadium two years ago when they came from behind and the Hornets striker was less than happy with the antics of Dimitri Payet.

Deeney hasn't featured for the Hornets in three of their last four games through suspension but returned for their defeat to Chelsea last weekend.
