Watford boss Xisco Munoz tells squad to focus on themselves as they push for Premier League return

Watford boss Xisco Munoz has told his squad to focus on themselves and not worry about the teams around them as they bid to secure promotion back to the Premier League.

The Hornets are currently sat second in the Championship with five games to go and they head to rivals Luton on Saturday.

Watford are eight points off Norwich in first, while they are seven ahead of Swansea in third and Brentford are nine off them in fourth - but with a game in hand.

Xisco, however, wants his side to focus on themselves and not worry about how teams around them are performing.

“Believe me, I only have time to check my team. The focus is our time,” said Xisco.

“The focus is our work, the focus is what we can do better for the players, the focus is what we can work on more to give the solution for everyone.

“This is our time. If you tell me if I want to stay more up, sure. If you tell me if I want to play better, sure.

“Everyone has big ambition. We always want the best, we always want to give the best and always we want to give a better performance for everyone.

“I think this is our ambition. We don’t need to focus on other teams or other things. We are ambitious and we try to give our best until the final.”
