Watford boss Nigel Pearson urges squad to 'live in the moment' in fight for Premier League survival

Watford boss Nigel Pearson has told his players to live in the moment and forget about their poor form as they fight to stay in the Premier League.

The Hornets have taken just one point from their four games since the Premier League’s restart and are consequently 17th in the table ahead of tonight’s game with Norwich, who are 20th.

The pressure is on Watford to stay up as Aston Villa in 18th and Bournemouth in 19th are just one point behind them with five games to go.

But ahead of tonight’s match at Vicarage Road, Pearson said: “It’s about living in the moment.

“It is making sure that our concentration and focus is very much on the games that are coming up, because we can’t do anything about the games that are gone.

“The important thing is doing everything we can from here on in to secure our future.”
