Waterford woman thanks generous couple who posted her stolen purse back to her

A Waterford woman has thanked a generous couple who made sure her stolen purse was returned to her.

Bernie Gore was reunited with her purse containing sentimental items and a driving licence by a couple from the UK who found it lying in a ditch.

The Deise woman said her purse was robbed in Limerick and was then found near the Crescent Shopping Centre.

The cash inside had been taken but Bernie applauded the lovely couple for taking their time to return it.

Taking to Twitter to thank the kind-hearted couple, she said: “Aw lads look at this. My purse was stolen in Limerick and I just received a parcel from England with everything in it except cash to my home in Waterford.

“My driving licence had address. What a lovely lady and her husband. It cost them £7 to post.”

The letter says: “I really hope you receive this.

“My husband and I were travelling back to the UK from Shannon.

“We stopped at the Crescent Shopping Centre on the way and found this purse laying in a ditch, all the contents were laying on the ground.

“I can see that there are sentimental items in there that clearly mean a lot.

“I have posted it to the address on your driving licence. I hope you receive it.”

The English woman, Lorraine, left her number to make sure she received it and signed off the letter.
