Waterford recruit Shane Ronayne as new senior football boss

Shane Ronayne is the new manager of the Waterford senior footballers on a two-year term

Mitchelstown man Ronanye was manager of the Tipperary ladies footballers for four years until stepping down last month, as well as guiding Mourneabbey to two senior club All-Ireland crowns.

In his time in charge, the Premier claimed four national titles - Tipp were in Division 3 when he took charge in 2017 but by the time he departed the role, his team were in the league's top tier and in the All-Ireland senior championship.

Benji Whelan stepped down at the end of Waterford's involvement in the Munster championship, the quarter-final loss to Limerick. Whelan had been in charge for two years.
