Waterford aiming to bring Cardiff City keeper Brian Murphy to hometown club

Waterford are trying to lure goalkeeper Brian Murphy to the RSC ahead of the new season.

Out of contract with Cardiff City in the summer, the former Ireland squad man is weighing up a move to his hometown club.

Murphy and his partner are expecting their first child this summer and the 36-year is mulling over a return to Ireland after a decade across the water.

And Mirror Sport has learned that Blues boss Alan Reynolds wants the ex-Bohs No 1 to pitch up at the RSC.

Murphy joined Ipswich from Bohs in 2010 and then played for QPR and Portsmouth before joining Cardiff in 2016.
