The victim of a horrific acid attack has said he was afraid he would never see again.

The Irish Mirror previously revealed how three teenagers suffered horrific burns in a ‘mistaken identity’ acid attack last week.

The promising sports stars, who are all from Ireland, were reportedly targeted by another youth at around 11pm on Thursday, April 25.

And, speaking to WLR FM, Tega said: “I’m grateful for everyone who has messaged me and sent me nice messages.

“They’re helping me get through every day. I’m getting a better every day because of the messages.

“I’m feeling less pain every day.

“I can see from both eyes but it’s swollen so it’s hard to open them.

“My vision should return to what it was before.

“I don’t know if I need skin grafts yet, they’re waiting a few weeks for it to heal before I find out.

“The pain was so bad I can’t even describe, I thought I’d never be able to see again.

“I never thought I’d be able to see another thing in my life.

“It was nice to get a message off Mick McCarthy, that made me happy that day.”

Tega’s mother, Christy, thanked everyone for their help and support as Tega begins his mental and physical recovery from the callous attack.
