Water supply restored at Salford Royal Hospital after wards left without running water on New Year's Eve

Problems with the water supply at Salford Royal Hospital have been now resolved.

A number of wards at the Ladywell Building were without running water on New Year’s Eve.

Hospital bosses said the issue was affecting a number of patients staying on the wards.

Bottled water was used on site and a temporary fix was put in place overnight, a spokesperson for Salford Royal NHS Foundation Trust said.

The issue was permanently resolved by 10am on New Year’s Day.

It is understood that engineers from United Utilities provided a temporary water supply overnight.

The Ladywell Building houses a number of wards, the radiology unit and the ultrasound unit.
