HYDERABAD: Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Friday said that he will lead an all-party delegation to Delhi, if necessary, to discuss water concerns of Telangana with Andhra Pradesh Taking a suggestion from AIMIM floor leader Akbaruddin Owaisi, he said in the assembly that neighbouring AP was causing problems on water sharing.
“I have represented to the Centre four times regarding the gazette notification on taking over river boards. If necessary, we may go as an all-party delegation to Delhi,” he said.
At the same time, he appealed to the opposition not to damage Telangana’s image, saying that welfare, relief, medium and long-term development initiatives were being implemented at full throttle. During the brief discussion on welfare measures being implemented in the state, the CM said Telangana was developing on all fronts. “Some leaders are making cheap comments that the state government is not giving anything out of its pocket. That is not right,” he said.
Taking a dig at Congress, he said: “You don’t have management skills. But, you claim that you have done everything. In fact, we are responsible for providing water to Hyderabad. We are able to provide 24-hour power supply in the state. It is unjust to say we have not done anything.”
He recalled an instance from the days of undivided Andhra Pradesh. “Then Congress power minister K Rosaiah declared that he would hang himself if the electricity situation was not fixed. I am not saying that the previous government did nothing, I am saying they did not do it effectively.”
Making an important statement, the CM said the refurbished Yadadri temple’s consecration will be performed in November-end or December. He said he had invited Prime Minister Narendra Modi for the ritual. “Every faith is valued in the state. I told the PM about the temple. He admired the refurbished work and said he would attend the inaugural ceremony,” the CM said.
