There must be constant monitoring of water tables in every district, with updated data every month. This is also an opportunity to focus on urban water bodies which scarely receive attention. In a country such as India, where water scarcity can no longer be ignored, reiterating the importance of water conservation is crucial (Editorial page, December 13).
