Water leak in Eldon Square investigated after part of building left without water

A water leak at Newcastle shopping centre Eldon Square is being investigated after part of the building was left without water.

Water went off in part of the city centre building just before 9am on Thursday.

It is believed some shops and businesses in Eldon Square were left without water for a brief time on Thursday morning.

Northumbrian Water has now confirmed they have investigated the leak which is not part of the public network.

Technicians are assisting workers in Eldon Square to fix the problem and water is now being restored.

Water supply elsewhere in the city centre has not been affected.

Water supply in some areas was restored at around 9.30am.
