Water cut at North Somerset primary school after pipe bursts

Parts of Mendip Green primary school will have no water today (Thursday) after a pipe burst under the building.

But thanks to bosses working around the clock, pupils will be able to attend school as normal today.

Reception to Year 3 classes are without water, however the senior leadership team moved around the classroom last night to ensure the youngest pupils will be the closest to the working toilets.

A spokesperson for the school posted on Facebook: "They (bosses) are working so hard.

"We are moving furniture and resources so that we can swap classes around tomorrow, meaning that our youngest children are nearest the toilets.

"We have also taken steps to ensure that health and hygiene remain a priority and that children have access to hand washing facilities and clean toliets.

"Crucially, I am pleased to inform you that we intend to open as normal tomorrow.!"

Parents have been advised to bring their kids to their normal classrooms and to bring children in with their full water bottles.
