WATCH: Zion Williamson has options, but will playing for the Pelicans be one?

Zion Williamson is going to be the No. 1 overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft and he’s expected to be the most marketable since LeBron James.

But now he is poised to go play in New Orleans, which is the second-smallest market in the league. Williamson has been mum in regard to publicly expressing where he wants to play, but if he decides it’s not NOLA, he has a few options.

Certainly, these options would leave a mark on the course of NBA draft history, but here they are: 1) Return to Duke — new NCAA rules allow players to test the NBA waters before deciding to turn back to college basketball. Williamson hasn’t hired an agent and has until June 10 to withdraw his name from the draft. 2) Pull an Eli Manning — Williamson doesn’t seem prone to talk down about any NBA team at this point, but he could demand he end up with a team other than the one with the first pick of the draft. 3) Withdraw from the draft and train until next year — meaning very few basketball games for Zion fans to easily watch.
