The XFL revealed names and logos for its eight teams on Wednesday, getting the league one step closer to kickoff in February 2020.
The eight team names:
- St. Louis Battlehawks
- Tampa Bay Vipers
- New York Guardians
- Seattle Dragons
- Los Angeles Wildcats
- D.C. Defenders
- Houston Roughnecks
- Dallas Renegades
The original XFL ran just one season in 2001 before folding. The new iteration of the league is owned by WWE majority owner Vince McMahon through his entertainment company, Alpha Entertainment.
Oliver Luck, a longtime sports executive with stints with the NCAA and NFL Europe, will serve as CEO and commissioner.
