After driving down the field on their first drive to score a touchdown, the Miami Dolphins’ defense showed up big to extend their lead at Hard Rock Stadium.
On their first defensive drive, cornerback Xavien Howard made a great play in zone coverage to jump a Mac Jones pass intended for wide receiver Jakobi Meyers. He brought in the ball, evaded Jones’ tackle attempt, and returned it to the end zone to give his team a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.
This was Howard’s fifth interception of the season, and his third in his career against the New England Patriots.
