A VIDEO of the world's first sex robot has caused a stir on social media with users claiming the doll has a "Glasgow Uni accent".
Released on Twitter, the video is captioned "the first sex robots are about to hit the market", and shows Realbotix CEO Matt McMullen explaining how the sex robot works.
In the clip, robot Harmony 2.1 says "I'm glad you came back so fast baby, 10 minutes without you seems like an eternity" in what sounds like a Glaswegian accent.

The video has racked up over 2 million views in under 24-hours and prompted Scots to question the choice of accent.
One person wrote: "American sex dolls with a Glasgow uni accent who woulda thought it".

Meanwhile, other users suggested the robot sounds like the automated voice that greets passengers on trains heading for Glasgow Central station.
Harmony 2.1 was created by California-based robotics firm, Realbotix, and released in 2018.
In 2017, the Daily Record reported that CEO McMullen had told the paper that the reason behind the Scottish accent was because it sounded "the least robotic".
According to the report, McMullen said the voice sounded “natural and developed” which customers would like because it makes the sex cyborgs sound more real.
