UFC fans have been speculating over a potential superfight between UFC heavyweight champion Daniel Cormer and Brock Lesnar since Lesnar showed up at UFC 226 to tease an eventual meeting, but Dana White revealed Tuesday that Lesnar has retired from competition in the octagon.
Lesnar’s last UFC appearance occurred at UFC 200 in July of 2016, and his victory over Mark Hunt was eventually overturned after Lesnar tested positive for a banned substance. While his return would have certainly generated a massive payday for Cormier, his replacement should make for a much more captivating fight. According to ESPN, UFC is finalizing a bout between Cormier and Stipe Miocic. Cormier knocked out Miocic in the first round at UFC 226.
