Watch what the culture of the Ohio State running backs room means

Archie Griffin, Eddie George, Keith Byars, Ezekiel Elliott. Few schools have the tradition at running back that Ohio State has. Throughout its illustrious history, the tailback position has been perhaps the most visible and prestigious position on the field.

Though that might be changing a bit with the passing game starting to become a bigger part of what’s happening in Columbus, the running backs will always be a huge part of the Buckeye culture.

Current running backs coach Tony Alford has a lot of respect for the history and tradition of mail-toting running backs that have come through the program, and it’s evident by what he believes and what he says.

Watch as Alford discusses the tradition of the tailback position at Ohio State and how he has tried to carry that on and put his own stamp on it. You’ll get a history lesson, hear from former players, and see some on-field coaching and workouts in a behind the scenes look of “The Room,” running back version.

The video comes courtesy of the official Ohio State football Twitter Feed. Click below and get a quick under three-minute look at the running back room in Columbus.

Could J.K. Dobbins add his name to the revered ones that already exist at Ohio State?
