Watch what Maryland HC Mike Locksley said about Ohio State postgame

The Maryland Terrapins were absolutely annihilated by Ohio State, and Maryland HC Mike Locksley knows they were matched up against the best.

The Terrapins were literally playing the nation’s best team. There’s no denying that they were hoping for a better result than 73-14, but against the Justin Fields-led Buckeyes, you couldn’t ask for much more.

Fields and running back J.K. Dobbins had a field day even without star defensive end Chase Young. That said, the Buckeyes were up 42-0 as the two teams entered halftime.

That didn’t stop the Locksley-coached Terrapins. He kept his guys alive, and they ended up scoring 14 second-half points, 14 more than they had the entire first half.

Here’s what the head coach said about his team and the matchup with Ohio State following the game.

Moving forward Maryland, who is now 3-7, has Nebraska and Michigan State. With just three wins, they won’t be bowl eligible this year, but they have been building a base and should be better next year and into the future.

Ohio State has Rutgers next week, then a highly anticipated matchup with Penn State the following weekend.
