Luke Fickell is a Buckeye through and through, it just so happens that he’s now the head coach of the Cincinnati Bearcats just about 100 miles down I-75. He returned to the ‘Shoe Saturday and it wasn’t the outcome he would have hoped for, as his Bearcat team got smoked 42-0.
After the humbling loss, Fickell met with the media and discussed his disappointment at the result, but was also quick to praise Ohio State and what kind of team Ryan Day has. He also touched on the emotions of returning to a place that has the very fabric of who he is woven into his being.
This was supposed to be a much stiffer challenge than what Justin Fields and Ohio State faced last week against FAU, but things seemed to come much easier for a Buckeye team still looking to gel and become a team that can contend for some really big things.
In other words, it was a good day for the Buckeyes, and a not so good one for the kids from Cincinnati.
