The Boston Celtics are by most accounts a team planning to be very busy ahead of the 2022 NBA trade deadline of Feb. 10. But in order to be busy in that regard, you need both trade partners and players and assets that those other franchises would like to trade for.
Under former President of Basketball Operations Danny Ainge, the team had an expansive collection of draft assets and plenty of talent to boot, but much of that trove has since been depleted as has the roster’s talent base. And of course in these plans, there must also be trade targets of interest that the Celtics could like to deal for — who might Boston have an eye on right now?
The host of the Heavy.com “Heavy on the Celtics” podcast host Sean Deveney recently spoke with NBA insider and longtime Boston beat writer Steve Bulpett in a recent podcast, and duo debated the above issues ahead of any Celtics trades this season.
