Ohio State got in a donnybrook with the Cincinnati Bearcats and were able to win the battle of attrition for a scrappy 64-56 season-opening win at home. UC has a new coach in John Brannen, and he met with the media in Columbus after the game to field questions and talk about his team’s performance.

He was very complimentary of the talent, coaching and adjustments he saw from the Ohio State side, but reiterated that his team lost its defensive tenacity once those second half adjustments were made.
