WATCH: Warriors’ Kevin Durant will sit out Game 2

Kevin Durant will not be back on the court for the Golden State Warriors for Game 2 of the NBA Finals in Toronto on Sunday. Warriors head coach Steve Kerr spoke about the forward’s status Friday:

“We have been sort of holding out hope, but I might as well just say it now.

He’s not practicing today. We’ll have a practice tomorrow. But he’s still progressing. It’s near impossible for him to play on Sunday.”

The Raptors beat the reigning NBA Champs 118-109 Thursday night as Durant’s absence was visible. The 30-year-old was the team’s most reliable player in this season’s playoffs before straining his right calf in Game 5 of the Western Conference semifinals against the Rockets.
