Watch: Violent brawl in pub leaves children in tears as pensioners are led away to safety

A violent brawl that broke out in a pub has been captured on camera as children can be heard crying while elderly people are moved away to safety.

In the shocking footage - which you can watch above - a young man in a black jumper and blue jeans can be seen in the middle of the violence as people are viciously attacked.

Distressing cries of children can be heard in the background and pensioners are taken away to a safer area as the fight escalates.

The 66 second-long clip was taken inside The Lingmell Pub in Norris Green, Liverpool, on Saturday evening (Feb 29), reports Liverpool Echo.

During the violence, the man in blue jeans lashes out at another despite others telling him to stop.

One can be heard saying: "There are kids in here, stop it!"

In an attempt to calm him down, a woman can also be seen standing on top of a table.

Others close by try to control him with some trying  to drag him away, but the man hurls himself into a rival and punches him repeatedly.

The Lingmell Pub describes itself on its website as a "family food orientated public house, bringing the community together."

At around 6.50pm on Saturday police were called to the pub on Muirhead Avenue East.

Many of the perpetrators and witnesses had already fled the scene, hampering the investigation.

No reports of injuries have been made to police.

A police spokesman said: "There's been an incident at the pub. There were no reports of a stabbing, but there has been a large disturbance.

"There were no reported injuries and now all parties involved have dissipated."

The Lingmell was approached by the Echo, but they declined to comment.
