Day 1 of Chiefs’ rookie minicamp is in the books, and Day 2 is scheduled to begin later today. Below you can find some videos highlighting some of the moments from the first day of camp.
Luckily the Chiefs’ own media gets a chance to video tape more than solo work. There are some pretty neat moments of each of the Chiefs’ rookies throughout the day in the above video.
Rookie mistake by Juan Thornhill here. If you’re ruled down by contact with a player you can take the ball and run with it in the NFL. He was about to celebrate as if the ball was ruled down. At least he’s already making plays and learning in practice. That is what it’s all about.
Mecole Hardman looks really elusive and smooth in solo work. Khalen Saunders looks super explosive in the above drills. Finally I love seeing Steve Spagnuolo get some 1-on-1 work with tryout player Jocquez Kalili.
Hardman looks really natural as a returner, but Darwin Thompson looks a little less natural. I thought Nick Allegretti was going to pancake the poor guy holding the pads in that drill. Finally a great catch from Jamal Custis even if he let it into his body and didn’t fully extend.
Again, Hardman just looks super smooth in these individual drills. Can’t wait to see what he’s like when the pads come on.
