Surveillance video in Guangdong, China recorded a golden retriever pulling a young boy off his bike to safety moments before a tree branch fell.
The video shows a small boy playing outside with the dog close by. The boy is on a ride-on bike when the dog begins pulling at his shirt. The dog pulls him off the bike, dragging him by the shirt until he's a few feet away.
At first, the boy appears confused by the dog's behavior. Suddenly, a large falling branch comes into view at the top of the screen, crashing on to the bike.
Had it not been for the furry friend's gentle insistence, the boy could have been seriously injured.
The dog's owner, who had left the four-legged hero with family while traveling for business, told Metropolis Times, "When we saw the video, we were also shocked."
Unsurprisingly, the video has quickly gained traction circulating on social media. The dog is celebrated for acting quickly to protect the child, doing justice to the moniker of "man's best friend."
