Watch: Twitter loses it after officials whiff on controversial ‘fumble’ call

The Buffalo Bills are moving on in the NFL playoffs.

The AFC East champs downed the Indianapolis Colts, 27-24, on Saturday in Orchard Park, N.Y.

And the win wasn’t without the usual controversial play and review.

Phillip Rivers threw a pass that Zach Pascal received. He was not touched and appeared to get up and continue the play.

Pascal then fumbled and the Bills appeared to recover.

Game over, right?

Not with NFL officiating. They spotted the ball and gave it to Indy. Only a head’s-up move by Sean McDermott to call a timeout allowed time for a review.

After what seemed like an eternity, the play was ruled that Pascal was down and the Colts kept the ball. Their last-ditch drive failed when a Rivers Hail Mary! was knocked away.

But the folks on Twitter were aghast — correctly — by the call not being ruled a fumble.
