Watch TV with Josh Widdicombe

Unmissable show?

Pointless. I think it's probably the greatest daytime TV show that has ever existed. The chemistry between Armstrong and Osman is unbelievable. Also, I think it's really clever to get them to do it in pairs, because it gives a whole new dynamic. They're such a motley crew – you'll have two old women playing two young goths playing two students. It's celebratory and warm. There's no harshness to it.

Bring back…

Ghostwatch. I rewatched it a year ago, and I think it's one of the most astonishing feats of televisual brilliance there has ever been. I was 10, maybe, when it aired, and me and everyone at my school thought it was a real thing. There were so many good things about it. It wasn't a traditional ghost story. It wasn't done in an old house; it was done in a suburban street. To say it's better than Derek Acorah is the understatement of the decade. Pipes was the name of the ghost. That will always stay with me.

Pitch us a TV show…

A six-parter in which Adam Hills trials the feet of six different animals to decide which have the best feet. Replace his wooden leg with the foot of a bear. An elephant might be a quite good one. A horse, so he has a hoof. An ostrich. It's called Adam Hills's Animal Feet. I think it would be quite a good show.

I cried when…

The Snowman melted. You're going to get that answer every week. The Snowman is a real tearjerker. I don't think I'll ever get over how it hits you. It might be because you're drunk and a bit alone. Just imagine watching The Snowman alone, every day of the year.

Dream panel show lineup?

Daniel Kitson would be good but he's not going to do it. Noel Gallagher would be amazing. He's the funniest person in the world who isn't a comedian. And Stephen Merchant would be excellent on panel shows, but he's too big to do it. Not physically, I mean... though he wouldn't fit behind the desk.
