Watch: Trevor Siemian throws TD pass to Nick Vannett vs. Bills

Trevor Siemian knows who he is, and there’s a lot of value in that. He’s a quarterback who can’t make a play until the opposing team has gone up by three or four touchdowns and stops taking him seriously in the fourth quarter. True to form, the New Orleans Saints quarterback failed to get any points on the board until the fourth quarter of his team’s blowout loss to the Buffalo Bills.

And he did it in impressive fashion. Siemian bailed out of a messy pocket and kept his eyes downfield on the move, tossing a high pass towards tight end Nick Vannett between two Bills defenders for six points. It was a great play, and he deserves some props for it. But he’s also at fault for doing a bad job of steering the Saints offense for much of this game and most of the last month, struggling to pick up first downs and remain competitive in tough situations. Nothing signifies that better than Siemian missing the throw on the subsequent two-point conversion attempt.
