Tony Romo missed the cut at the AT&T Byron Nelson Friday, making it the third straight PGA Tour event that the former Dallas Cowboys quarterback has missed the cut in.
Romo finished eight-over after the second round, but played his first 11 holes on Friday at 1-under. All three of Romo’s recent PGA Tour event appearances came courtesy of a sponsor exemption, and he’s not done this month yet. The NFL on CBS lead analyst will make a run for the U.S. Open at Pebble Beach beginning Monday, competing in a qualifier at TPC Craig Ranch in McKinney, Texas.
